A-T flap for the reconstruction of an ope- rative wound in the malar region

چکیده
The malar region is the site of skin tumors and sometimes a primary closure is not possible after the excision of the lesion. The A-T flap is a good method for reconstructing an broad and deep defect in which the local surrounding tissue does not allow direct closure. The present study describes the implementation of an A-T flap as an option for the reconstruction of an operative wound secondary to the excision of a basal cell carcinoma.

Reconstruction of a Giant Wound Induced by Advanced Penile Carcinoma with Bilateral Anteromedial Thigh Flap and Left Deep Circumflex Iliac Artery Flaps
A 39-year-old male patient presented with an extensive putrescent ulceration of abdominoperineal region infiltrated by advanced penile squamous cell carcinoma. To our knowledge, it is the largest defect after aggressive palliative resection of penile squamous cell carcinoma (pSCC) in the literature, which was 36×23 cm. The defect was divided into three sub-defects, and was repaired by bil...

BACKGROUND Reconstruction of upper extremity deformities continues to be a challenge to the reconstructive surgeon. Various loco regional, distant and free flaps are available for reconstruction. However, each has its own set of advantages and disadvantages. Of the commonly performed local flaps, radial artery forearm flap, and the posterior interosseus artery flap stand out prominently. Rec...
متن کاملBiologic Basis of De-Epithelialized Transverse Platysma Flap for Oral Cavity Reconstruction
Introduction: The inferiorly and laterally based platysma myocutaneous flap contains hair in some ethnics; therefore, it is required to change the myocutaneous flap to myofascial flap to prevent the hair growth after its transfer to the oral cavity. Materials and Methods: Five male mongrel dogs were selected for this study. De-epithelialized laterally based platysma fl...
متن کاملTraumatic Partial Avulsion of Pinna Reconstruction with Limberg Flap
Traumatic injuries of ear range from simple lacerations to complex avulsions and crush injuries. The complicating factors involved are cartilage involvement, poor vascularity of the region and need for high cosmetic satisfaction. Various techniques have been described for reconstruction of earlobe after traumatic injuries. Here, we describe the reconstruction of a partially avulsed pinna using ...
متن کاملPerforator Flaps for Reconstruction of Lower Limb Defects
BACKGROUND Reconstruction of soft tissue defects in the lower third of the leg remains challenging. Anatomical constraints limit the local options available for complex defects especially lower third of leg. Local flaps based on perforator vessels are raising interest in reconstructive surgery of the limbs. We present our experience with perforator flaps for reconstruction of soft tissue def...
